Because I am sitting here sweating the OVER on the football game and a few NBA plays, let me give me you my opinion since you asked.
First off let it go. You are highly thought of down here in the RR and part of it is because you have spoken out on things many agreed with you on. However now you are getting into the "all about me" phase. I like you more when you are a watchdog of the watchdog site, more so than the I've been discriminated against and am going to whine and cry about it forever. Here are some random thoughts that I will allow you to place any, some, or zero amount of credibility on but hope you listen. Rarely is any war as one-sided as it seems. I can tell you this, I like you a lot and hope you never change, maybe fine tune it a little though. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
- Like you I have been through some of the biggest WARS on this board of anybody. Probably most of them before your time. I once spoke out about on-line poker and the shit hit the fan like I hadn't ever seen. Another time I got into it about Yahoops. Wasn't a bunch of scumbags on my ass, it was guys like Peep, Uncle B and Cecil. Not to mention that whole gang of guys that Ido pays to shill for him. When I have a case I never let them back me down though. However I look for answers when I calm down. I don't play on-line poker and I certainly wouldn't give Yahoops any of my money. I guess my point is I don't want you to think I'm some kind of RX kiss ass and dismiss what I say. I am battle tested beneath this Patrick McIrish paint job I have. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
- Jay Cohen/moderator war and the other stuff. I won't or can't comment on all that. I have no idea who started the name calling. However again, let me give you another general feel. All the players know who everyone else is who have been around. JC of WSEX is doing time now in a federal prision. Won't go into particulars on why or anything but he is pretty much highly respected by most in this industry, including myself. Of course it's not your fault he's there but you ruffled a lot of feathers when you kept making fun of him being there. I doubt you even realize how many were upset with that. Not defending anything, just saying I myself hated to see you tease the guy for being in the pen and almost took a few shots at you myself. Lot of us were offended to be frank about it though we didn't want a war with you. JC is a good guy, had the pleasure of meeting him in Vegas last year.
As far as the moderators go they have a very tough job Ham. Almost a no-win situation. Each poster in the forum has their own idea of how the place should be run and it's never the same. Plus they have a whole slew of people over them. They aren't getting rich either. Not saying we can't offer opinions but some of these guys are good people if you give them a chance. To keep beating them over the head weakens what you will say down the road. The whole "boy who cried wolf" too many times thing. Because they are mods doesn't mean they will sit back and let you abuse them. Don't know if you did or not but if you did they probably will fire back.
- NAB. Much of what you said I agree with BUT that wasn't the time Hammy. I spoke about this book to lots of people in a poker group! It almost killed me when the book went under and these people lost their money. So trust me no one has any harder feelings than me about them. No matter how right your posts about them stealing by taking money from new deposits was, it wasn't helping matters. For one thing no one here was sending them any new money. It's people off the forum who were continuing to get waxed. Yes NAB was wrong but your prolonged and dedicated attack on him and the book was not helping us that was trying to get our money. In my case I did not want him leaving the forum yet. I had to stand up and face a roomful of people I gave bad advice to. I wanted to exhaust all opportunities before I admitted their money was gone. Not only their money but I got beat out of some myself. I wish you would have listened to some reasonable advice.
- Don't know if you know this or if it matters, but NO ONE HERE DEFENDED YOU MORE THAN PEEP! I only say this because I think you should know it. Even more than I. When you changed the score in that thread with Dicky thread I myself was hoping they would ban you. Thought you earned it and wondered whether or not you were ever going to be productive here. Just being honest. Over time and when they allowed you to stay I began to like you more and more. Something to think about is, don't bite the hand that feeds you. Had I been Peep I would have given up on you long ago. Instead he fought for you for a long time. When he asked for some cooperation you spit in his face. I remember it clearly. You told him amongst other things "your full of shit Peep" and other things when he was trying to save you. That is fact. Again I'm not trying to tell you that you are wrong, just giving you another way to think about things. As you get older I hope you develop some sort of loyalty to the people who stand by you. Doesn't mean you can't disagree with them but make it a habit to do so man to man and give them a chance to make their point. I have gone many rounds with Peep and the RX but I don't go against them just for the sake of doing so. Because of that a lot of people trust my opinion is sincere. Doesn't mean I am always right but most know I won't be afraid to either rip or prop the site. Some seem to think the RR is only for guys who create general mayhem and are always disruptive, I don't see it that way. I do see it as guys who call a spade a spade, but not guys who want to create drama just for the hell of it. We have Vega for that. I think you have more to offer if you desire.
You have twice the smarts of me and lots of others but here's some differences between you and I. Not an insult just something to think about down the road. As I said, like you I used to bash the board and their policies on a regular basis. Instead of making it all about me and criticizing their every move I finally joined the Advisory Board. You know why? Because I did not then and still do not agree with everything they do here but overall I like it and want to stay. I can continually bitch and moan or take steps to improve it. I decided to do something positive. The same with NAB, I got stiffed there and am very unhappy about it. Again, I either bitch and moan about it or I do something about it. While you are here trying to make headlines I am trying to get a players club for the little guys off the ground. Something that will make it harder to stiff us players that have few connections off-shore. Will it be a huge success? Who knows but it's more productive than doing nothing. Identifying things you don't like is nice, taking steps to improve things I hope is your next step. Who knows maybe you just want to be another loud mouthed blowhard over the internet who needs attention. I hope not. I guess what I hope is one day you use your inteliigence to do some positive things here. Firing out at people over small details that mean little is not you Ham, don't let it define you man.
We need your type here Hammy and I hope you stay. Since you asked my opinion, you are better than this. You seem to want to go "all in" on an old issue that is insignificant and trivial. If you don't like it take steps to correct it or forget about it and move on. Nothing is more common to see than unfulfilled potential. Maybe you just want to jack off around here, well you can have some fun and still contribute. In this industry there is something new that comes down the pipe every day. Another logical voice of reason with a backbone is always welcomed. Pop used to say, it's the soldiers who keep the peace, not the people at the anti-war rallies.
